Willamette Week & Pride NW Pride Guide 2011 is OUT

SO PROUD: It's been years since my work has been featured on the pages of Willamette Week.
But, yesterday, that all changed.
That's because a photograph I shot at last year's Pride Parade of Dr. Mary Ann Humphrey-Keever was published as the cover image of WW's and Pride Northwest's Official Portland Pride Guide 2011: Make It Happen.
The timely guide to all things Pride was edited by Jonanna Widner. And I look forward to seeing people carry the paper around for the next couple of weeks knowing that I played a very small part in getting the word out.
And, really, I can't think of a better person than Dr. Mary Ann, a former member of the Army Reserve who was kicked out for being gay, as the cover model for this year's festival. I am glad they chose that image.

Pretty exciting. Also wanted you to know that the Q Center just picked the first Gay Heros to be listed, shown, discussed (I gather) come June.
I am honored that they chose me as one of those folks. Would love to use the photo you took for the bio, but sounds like Pat Young will be using one she took with the US Flag I was carrying, in the Gay Pride Parade.
Anyway, thanks again, and keep on keepin' it real. Without the added voice of Just Out, our community will need you and your work!
