The Stardar Report: Outlaw Celebs Mugging for the Camera at IFCC

YOU LOOKIN' AT THEM? As you run around in the rain on Last Thursday, may I suggest a spot where you'll not only be dry but intrigued, informed, and dare I say, a little star struck.
Tonight at the IFCC (5340 N. Interstate Ave., 503-823-4322) Ruin to Redemption opens and will run through Nov. 21.
A dramatic photo show its Richard Avedon meets The Smoking Gun. It features the work of Jonas Mohr, designer Tom Moyer and journo Jason Porath.
Ruin To Redemption is based on the award-winning photojournalism book, Mugshots. The book contains stories of ex-convicts, recovered drug addicts and former gang members who were able to break the cycle of violence and addiction in their lives and re-create themselves as successful artists in Hollywood. Their stories are told through a series of astonishingly candid quotes. The dramatic black and white photographs are of faces, many of them recognizable; among them hip hop artist Coolio, actor Danny Trejo, writer Jerry Stahl, actor Eric Roberts, writer Antwone Fisher, actor John Wesley, Hollywood agent Manny Jimenez, BMX superstar Rick Thorne, musician Ms. Toi, actor Emilio Rivera, tattoo artist Mr. Cartoon, actor Seymour Cassel and activist Gilbert Salinas. The book contains thirty eight portraits in all.
It is the first time that the photographs and text from the critically acclaimed book have ever been exhibited in a gallery.
The opening night celebration begins at 5 pm tonight and ends at 7:30 pm giving you plenty of time to get soaked on Alberta Street.
