A LITTLE NIGHT MARKET: The Good Food Roadshow, a three-city tour of the nation, stopped off in Portland on Friday night for a little "night market" at Olympic Provisions NW. The event was a night to remember...and eat good food.
About the event, Good Food Awards Director Sarah Weiner had this to say: “Oregon has produced more Good Food Award Winners than any state except for California, and it’s about time we...do something special in Portland. The chance to do it with Olympic Provisions – one of the only companies in the country that has won a Good Food Award every year since its inception – was too good an opportunity to pass up.”
On Friday, the Good Food Merchants Guild, a membership association of 250 businesses that supports the Good Food Awards, partnered with Olympic Provisions to host a free Good Food Night Market and Beer & Brats After Party at their Northwest Portland sausage factory-cum-event venue. Portland’s own Tails & Trotters, Unbound Pickling and Xocolatl de Davíd sold their wares side by side with two-dozen Good Food Award Winners and Guild Members from Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Showcasing the best of the Pacific Northwest, the Night Market featured everything from coffees and champagne-style ciders to bacon pickles and porkstrami. Yes, porkstrami!
