Portland Thorns Ali Long and Alex Morgan with Madewell's Somsack, Madewell party guests, Somsack and Project Runway's Gretchen Jones and a toast to Madewell
MADEWELL IN PORTLAND: To toast the grand opening of Madewell Brewery Blocks (a new boutique from the folks at J. Crew that every woman I know has been buzzing about) an all-day long party was given. In the spirit of neighborly love, they extended the party into the evening with bubbly, small bites and tunes. Guests included Portland Thorns Ali Long and Alex Morgan as well as Project Runway's Gretchen Jones.
Founded back in 1937 as a denim workwear label, Madewell is now made for the modern woman. Think great jeans, perfect-fitting tees, chambray shirts and dresses—and all the wear-everywhere accessories you’ll pair with them. You’ll also find a handpicked selection of their favorite finds from around the globe. Each piece balances the timeless with the modern, the simple with the smart. It’s what Madewell style is all about.
To celebrate Portland Madewell teamed up with local talent on exclusive products that will be available for purchase in store. Customers will find leather and brass jewelry from Ann Korte at AK Vintage (http://akvintage.com/), two soap packages (Rose & Sea and Coffee & Doug) from Anoria Gilbert at Maak lab (http://maaklab.co/shop/) and a planter made from turned wood and hand thrown ceramic by artists Haley Ann Robinson and Casey Keasler.
